National ID Card

There’s a lot of controversy going on about the REAL ID act. Personally, I’m against it. I’m against it because the ID card WILL be embedded with and RFID chip. I’m against it because I can no longer trust my government. I have nothing to hide, however, I certainly dislike the idea of my every move being accounted for by the government. And it will be if bush has his way.

We’ve all been led to believe that the REAL ID act came about because of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. However, this act was in the works for at least 3 years PRIOR to the events of 9/11!!

The Federal Government denies this is a National ID card. Well what the hell else could it be IF you need it to travel, enter government buildings, visit national parks, eventually needing it just to buy new underwear or a loaf of bread and quart of milk?

Our borders are wide open, our major ports are wide open. HOW is this going to fight “the war on terror”? The only thing this card does is suppress American liberty and freedom. The only thing this card does is force American Citizens to “show papers” on demand.

Devvy Kidd, a regular contributor of News With Views, gives some insight into this “it’s not a national ID card” scam that the government is running on us.

Many Americans believe the push for a national ID came about because of 911. The same applies to the nefarious and unnecessary Department of Homeland Security. Wrong on both accounts. Back on July 22, 1999, Wired.com carried an article titled: ‘Your license or your life’:

“At a hearing Thursday, the House Immigration subcommittee will debate the future of modified driver licenses, which detractors derisively call a “national ID card.”

“The ACLU is part of a coalition with other liberal groups, such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Electronic Privacy Information Center. But the alliance also includes arch-conservative organizations: the Eagle Forum, the Free Congress Foundation, and Americans for Tax Reform.

“The organizations found common ground in what they uniformly believe is a serious threat to privacy. “Proposals for a national ID have been consistently rejected in the United States as an infringement of personal liberty,” said a recent coalition letter urging Congress to nix the current law. “We care about this hearing because there are other members that are receptive to privacy concerns. While Lamar Smith is on the other side, other members need to hear what’s going on,” said Lori Cole, a spokesman for the Eagle Forum’s office in Washington. For his part, Smith angrily denies that he’s Big Brother incarnate in a note he posted on his Web site: “I do not support a national ID card and don’t know anyone who does.”

On February 9, 1999, The Dallas Morning News carried a piece titled, ‘U.S. Quietly Upgrading Homeland Defense Plan’: WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – “National security officials fear that for the first time in nearly two centuries a foreign power may be about to cross the oceans to invade the United States… With little fanfare, federal, state and local emergency management leaders for the last three years have been building a homeland defense.”

On November 25, 2002, Dictator George Bush, signed the Homeland Security Act into law which created this behemoth that was already in the works long before the convenient event called 911.

On May 10, 2005, without these poltroons in Congress reading this monstrosity (except Ron Paul), Congress passed this National ID Act to track your every move under the pretext it would be a tool for fighting the “war on terror” while leaving our borders open and over run since 1986. Actually, none of these Nazi-style tools for totalitarian rule is new. Back on February 7, 1935, John D. Rockefeller, pulled a publicity stunt at the Federal Department of Justice. He got fingerprinted to publicize a new campaign for a national fingerprint registration law. Thankfully, it was defeated.

This country is rapidly slipping from us. Our Constitution is being trampled and shredded before our very eyes.

When will We the People come out of the stupor they have us in?

How much longer will we allow this to continue before we scream at the top of our lungs ENOUGH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  1. There is a long list of presenters and sponsors of this house bill…one of them, unfortunately is my Representative.

    That is where it starts.

  2. I HEAR you loud and Proud. I’m an American Citizen by right of birth! This country should not demand that I present papers in order to travel as I please. It should not be able to track my every movement as though I were wearing a criminal’s bracelet and just been released from prison or jail. I have broken NO LAWS! I refuse to go along with this and will continue to fight to uphold my rights to privacy, PERIOD! Thanks for the great article!

  3. Have you read Sandy’s blog today? About house to house searches for guns? I have a feeling that many of us will be slinkin’ over the border to Mexico soon to escape our government before it’s too late. I hear Poland is free all times of the year….

  4. Yes, Jalestra, I saw that and will be using it also. I did a piece a couple of weeks back about D.C. doing just that, only D.C. didn’t wrap it up in that “for the children” shit.

  5. You are dead on regarding the spychips. For REAL ID they are doing a bait and switch with the 2D barcodes, and the REAL ID rules are clear that DHS gets to make all future technology decisions. Once their foot is in the door it will all change. You only have to look to Washington state, where they are already making the spychip licenses but are calling them “enhanced drivers licenses” instead of REAL IDs. Washington state had passed a law that they could not do REAL ID, so they ended up doing them and just calling them by a different name. The spychips they are using in Washington state transmit 30 feet! This is not the future, they are doing it TODAY.

  6. Our government is so pathetic that they cant find better things to do than to spy on us. A national ID card what a nifty little way to trick us into getting this card (for our security) so they can keep us under their thumbs. I will never get this ID card so I guess before too long I will be unemployed and driving illegally. How wonderful our government is to put people in such a position. This is one step closer to the mark of the beast people read Revelation 13:16-18 its coming

  7. Hi Cindy,

I don’t organized religion and don’t read the bible. Since I don’t believe in the devil I can’t buy into the mark of the beast thing either. But this is definitely one step closer to fascism or some other form of UN-free living. Guess we’ll both be on the streets begging since we both refuse to get their marked tracking cards……..LOL
