2nd & 4th Amendments Under Fire

You really have to wonder what is going on these days. It is getting really scary to hear these stories. I never thought that I would see things like this happening in this country.

Junkfood Science went a little off topic today, but only in that the main thrust of the topic deals with our Second Amendment and Fourth Amendment rights; the right to own and bear arms and the right to be safe in our persons and papers from search without probable cause and warrant, respectively. Eventually, as she shows, this can be taken further and our homes could be searched for twinkies, whole milk, real butter….all in the name of the ‘war on obesity’ you understand. So while her topic today appears off topic, in essence it really isn’t for it is all tied together. Be sure to read this piece and the links within it. Educate yourself, knowledge is power.

House-to-house searches — for twinkies and guns?

We make a bit of a departure today because this story has been all the buzz, and probably in your town, too. People are asking: “Did you ever imagine we would see this day in America?” The health and welfare implications of this issue may also be more real than might appear at first glance.

Two weeks ago, Boston police had launched a program called Safe Homes, for the protection of children. It would allow the police to go door to door and search homes — without warrants — for guns. The Boston Globe reported that they were getting objections from residents, but the police commissioner was “taken aback by the criticism.”

As I wrote about a couple of weeks ago, Washington D.C. is also doing the same thing. The story came out the same time that D.C. gun ban went to the Supreme Court. Some googling turns up that St. Louis, MO also did this back in the mid 90’s, with somewhat mixed and not very successful results.

And these same things are happening with regard to weight. I’ve posted several pieces on this, the most recent being the case of threatening parents with removal of their children if the kids don’t lose x number of pounds in a set amount of time. While this has happened in the UK, it is already under works here. Sandy covers all of this, links included, in her post that I linked to above.

The healthists are running amok, and are funded with grants from various sources, much of which seems stems from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. RWJF has heavily funded the anti-smoking movement, which considering they own more than 50% of Johnson & Johnson stock, and stand to benefit greatly from J&J’s Nicotine Replacement Therapy products, makes sense. But if you look at the grants they have you will notice that most have to do with lifestyle habits of people and how to change them. It’s ‘behaviour modification’ under the guise of “health” that’s being forced on us all.

About Us

The mission of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is to improve the health and health care of all Americans. Our goal is clear: To help society transform itself for the better.

I see this and I wonder………….where did they get the idea the it was their job to “improve the health…of all Americans”? The part that really tips me off to their agenda is this: “to help society transform itself for the better”.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines ‘transform’ this way:

Main Entry:
1trans·form Listen to the pronunciation of 1transform
Middle English, from Middle French transformer, from Latin transformare, from trans- + formare to form, from forma form
14th century

transitive verb1 a: to change in composition or structure b: to change the outward form or appearance of c: to change in character or condition : convert2: to subject to mathematical transformation3: to cause (a cell) to undergo genetic

So when I see the word ‘transform’, especially used in context of society, I see an organization bent on changing our lifestyles to suit their desires. The greatest gift given to us by whatever higher power/deity you believe in, is “FREE WILL”. I happen to like free will and I’ll be damned if I’ll just turn mine over to some clown who just doesn’t like some of my choices.

For years and years people from other countries came to our shores and land to escape the kind of ‘rule’ which is becoming more and more prevalent here. America was a beacon of light for all who were oppressed. America was freedom for all who were not free. There is no where to go anymore if this country loses her sovereignty and purpose. If our leaders don’t stop shredding our Constitution, selling off our infrastructure, outsourcing our jobs and manufacturing then we are doomed and will become like those countries we claim aren’t free.

Have you had enough yet? Are you coming out of your stupor yet? Are you willing to fight for your freedom or are you just going to lie down and let them trample all over you? Is this the “Land of Free and Home of the Brave” or not?
