New Detention Camps in America

With the news of last weekend’s ‘martial law training‘ that took place in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas, I thought it would be a good idea to take another look at something I touched upon months ago.

I had read a piece late last year about ‘detention camps’ being built right here in America. I’m not talking the few that were established during WWII for Japanese-American internment, I’m talking about NEW camps being built by Halliburton subsidiary KBR. Yes, the same KBR that is in the news lately for sexual harassment and rape of American female employees in other countries and a sex slave scandal. Someone please explain how we are still paying these low-lifes billions of taxpayer monies!!!!!

What I’ve been finding about this isn’t the most pleasant thing. Of course it’s all being done under the guise of combatting terrorism and illega immigration. I fail to see how detaining illegal immigrants, indefinitely in taxpayer funded detention camps, with taxpayers paying to keep them there, somehow combats an illegal immigration issue while our ports and borders are wide open.

I did however make the connection between these camps and the Senate Bill S 1959 bill labeled “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.”

American Prison Camps Are on the Way

By Marjorie Cohn, AlterNet. Posted October 9, 2006.

Kellogg Brown & Root, a Halliburton subsidiary, is constructing a huge facility at an undisclosed location to hold tens of thousands of Bush’s “unlawful enemy combatants.” Americans are certain to be among them.

The Military Commissions Act of 2006 governing the treatment of detainees is the culmination of relentless fear-mongering by the Bush administration since the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Because the bill was adopted with lightning speed, barely anyone noticed that it empowers Bush to declare not just aliens, but also U.S. citizens, “unlawful enemy combatants.”

Bush & Co. has portrayed the bill as a tough way to deal with aliens to protect us against terrorism. Frightened they might lose their majority in Congress in the November elections, the Republicans rammed the bill through Congress with little substantive debate.

Anyone who donates money to a charity that turns up on Bush’s list of “terrorist” organizations, or who speaks out against the government’s policies could be declared an “unlawful enemy combatant” and imprisoned indefinitely. That includes American citizens.

Now, I might be inclined to assume this is nothing more than someone’s imagination run amok were it not for other sites I found. This next one is particularly interesting and has lots of links to click on for more information.

Former Congressman Warns Of Martial Law Camps In America
San Francisco Chronicle article outlines Homeland Security ENDGAME

An article co-written by a former Congressman and carried by the San Francisco Chronicle has gained much attention recently as it shines light on a coordinated federal government program to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.

“Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law, arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs.” write Lewis Seiler and former Congressman Dan Hamburg of the watchdog group Voice of the Environment, Inc.

Voice of the Environment’s mission is to educate the public regarding the transfer of public trust assets into private, mostly corporate, hands.

The article continues:

Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States. The government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees.

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of “all removable aliens” and “potential terrorists.”

Now I had to see what this ENGAME plan was all about. I avoided the government sites on this as I knew I’d only see what they wanted me to see. If you’re curious, click HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE for some interesting views on this. And that’s just a small sampling.

Reading them you can make the connection, that I did between these camps and the Senate Bill S 1959 bill labeled “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.”

Don’t be surprised if bloggers like myself are suddenly declared ‘enemy combatants’ because we don’t agree with this president and his policies. THAT is what Senate Bill S 1959 is really all about. Censorship is just around the corner folks.

And then there’s this lovely piece which will turn your stomach, so you might want to be sure you’ve not just eaten before reading it.

Bush Re-Authorizes Martial Law Provisions
Americans have officially been living under a dictatorship since at least 1933.

President George W. Bush has sparked much alarm by openly declaring himself to be a dictator in the event of a national emergency under new provisions that will effectively nullify the U.S. constitution, but such an infrastructure has been in place for over 70 years and this merely represents a re-authorization of the infrastructure of martial law.

New legislation signed on May 9, 2007, declares that in the event of a “catastrophic event”, the President can take total control over the government and the country, bypassing all other levels of government at the state, federal, local, territorial and tribal levels, and thus ensuring total unprecedented dictatorial power.

The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive, which also places the Secretary of Homeland Security in charge of domestic “security”, was signed earlier this month without the approval or oversight of Congress and seemingly supercedes the National Emergency Act which allows the president to declare a national emergency but also requires that Congress have the authority to “modify, rescind, or render dormant” such emergency authority if it believes the president has acted inappropriately.

Journalist Jerome Corsi, who has studied the directive also states that it makes no reference to Congress and “its language appears to negate any requirement that the president submit to Congress a determination that a national emergency exists.”

In other words the new directive excludes Congress altogether from governance in a state of emergency.

There’s a ton more stuff out there on this subject, but I think this particular posting is long enough (too long for my own taste personally, but there was just no way to shorten it).

We should only be lucky enough to make it to the elections, let alone lucky enough to make it to the inaugaration of a new President, not that any of the current choices are a whole lot better. My sneaking supicion is that dubya will find a reason to declare martial law here before the elections. That he’ll find a way to make sure the elections don’t even happen. And I’m not the only one who feels this way.

  1. Holy shit! Sure feels like they intend to place every American who disagrees with the government in these camps. Guess I should prepare myself. Damn, and I was feeling hopeful that things were turning around.

  2. Things won’t turn around unless the majority of the sheeple manage to come out of the stupor they are in. Since I doubt that will happen in time……………….we’re screwed.

  3. Screwed indeed. Seems I posted too soon on your last entry….

  4. Not sure I understand what you mean here Jalestra. Can you explain a bit?

  5. On the entry before this one I posted something like “don’t be surprised if there’s a “national emergency” during the next election. Then I read this post where you stated the same feeling.

  6. OK totally blonde moment there, I actually figured that out after I posted that (which was 24 hours AFTER reading your comment) ROFLMAO

And I totally agree. It’s just a question of when, not if. And that’s the part that frightens me more.

  7. […] government have any right to dictate HOW we live and WHAT we eat. That must be what all those new detention camps that Halliburton/KBR have built are for. Complete with the rail cars to haul our rebellious, […]

  8. research the georgia guidestones

  9. martial law is most likely going to be declared in september 2008 shortly after the crash of the economy brought on by the satanic new world order. just research the georgia guidestones
‘maintain humanity under 500 million in perputual balance with nature’

  10. Buah is gone and no martial law was declared. HAs Obama begun dismantling the camps? No. Hsa he said he will cease building them? No.

    Why not?

Perhaps it wasn’t exactly a Bush policy but what plans does Obama have for them now?

  11. Look into what Stanley K. Monteith has to say about the population control agenda and put it together along with the new detention camps !

    • Thank you, I will take a look at that over the weekend. I have heard talk about this though so I’m not surprised one bit. I’m just hoping more and more people are waking up.
