PETA Wants Human Breast Milk Ice Cream

I’ve come to the conclusion that PETA has just lost it! They’ve definitely gone over the deep end in my opinion. I heard about this Wednesday morning on my local news and almost spit my coffee all over the place.

I have little respect for special interest groups. All they want to do is force their particular brand of ideology on the rest of us. And the groups that resort to violence to do it? Well you don’t want to know my thoughts on that…….they are really twisted…….LOL

It seems PETA has written to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream to try to convince them to make their ice cream with human breast milk instead of cow’s milk. My only reaction to that is a resounding EEEEWWWWW!!!!!!

You can read all about it right here:

PETA Pushes for Human Breast Milk in Ice Cream

Given the choice, would you prefer cow’s milk or breast milk?

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has written a letter to the co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, urging them to replace the cow’s milk in the products with human breast milk.

PETA’s request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow’s milk in the food he serves. PETA points out to Ben & Jerry’s that such a move on their part would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health at the same time.

“The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn’t make sense,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “Everyone knows that ‘the breast is best,’ so Ben & Jerry’s could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch to breast milk.”

In response, Ben & Jerry’s spokesperson had this to say:

“We applaud PETA’s novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother’s milk is best used for her child.”

PETA’s letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield follows:

I’m not a Ben & Jerry’s fan anyway, but I’m glad they are not caving in to these lunatics.

  1. This innovative idea has a tremendous amount of potential. Women all over the world could supplement family incomes in the most natural way, making daily visits to milking stations to sell their surplus milk resolving the unemployment crunch and establishing an entire new industry.

Milking stations employing hundreds of thousands of workers world-wide could be set up for collection and processing.

The possibilities for restaurants are huge. The product line could be used for custards, cheese, yogurt, butter, creamy salad dressings, and sauces. Natural food stores would jump on this, too spurring the manufacturing and sales of new display cases and signage

  2. Glad to hear YOU like the idea. I find it repulsive AND not exactly healthy.

A mother’s milk is ONLY has healthy as she is. And given all the chemicals in our foods and water now, not to mention any pharma drugs mom is on, exactly HOW good is that milk going to be?

I find the vision of “milking stations” to be repulsive, not to mention denegrating to women (leave it to a man to find the idea pleasant).

If the world ends up going this route I will be eliminating dairy from my diet totally (it’s already limited given all the hormones they insist on feeding the cattle). I wasn’t breast fed as a baby and I’ll be damned if I’ll be “breast fed” as an adult. But that’s just me and my feelings.

  3. Breast milk is for babies, not ice cream. PETA is completely insane. They care more about animals than human beings. This isn’t even the worst thing that PETA has done.(type “Peta Tim Mclean” in the google search engine) The people at PETA are mentally ill.

  4. This group makes it much too difficult for me to admit that I’m a vegetarian. I hate that I get lumped in with these lunatics in some people’s minds!

There are so many vegan alternatives for people who want to avoid cow milk, too. I use them to help control my cholesterol. Rice Dream (which, admittedly, is often more like “Rice Nightmare”), Tofutti (can be good), Turtle Mountain (which is usually *very* good), new products made with coconut milk…

What is shelf life on mother’s milk. They better have a used by date, here’s how it should read.

    “Breast if used by: ”.

Container sizes would now be referred to as “A” cup, “B” cup, “C” cup, etc.

Sugar-free sundaes could be referred to as “falsies”

You could get your ice-cream in an extra large SILI-CONE

Push-ups would never be the same

“Saggy” sundaes would be served with the cherry on the BOTTOM

Some possible slogans … “Treats only Mama can make”
“Treats you want to get your hands on”
